4 day programme

Day 1
Arrival to Lviv. Check-in the hotel. A city bus tour visiting not only famous historic sites of Lviv but also the territory of old Jewish quarter ( Krakiv suburb), a building of former Jewish hospital, the synagogue of the Progress order, the house of Jewish community, a house where famous Jewish write Sholom Aleikhem lived for some time, and the only existing and functioning synagogue in Lviv. Also you’ll be able to visit Jewish entombment at Yaniv cemetery and the monument to the victims of Lviv ghetto during the World War II time. Dinner.

Day 2
Breakfast. A walking tour around the city centre. Passing the old streets around the Rynok Square you’ll get to know multicultural history of mediaeval Lviv. You’ll visit the territory of the former Jewish quarter in the city centre. You’ll see the remnants of the most famous and mysterious synagogue called ” Golden Rose”. Lunch. After lunch you can visit Lviv museum of the history of religion, where a big part of Jewish community life is exposed.
In the evening visiting the Opera Theatre.

Day 3
Breakfast. A trip to the former second significant centre of Jewish life in Galicia – a town of Brody. There you’ll visit old Jewish cemetery, Great town synagogue and also placed connected with Joseph Rott. Lunch in the restaurant ” Grydnytsya” in Olesky Castle. After a tour around the castle – return to Lviv.

Day 4
Breakfast. A trip to Drogobych, a town which used to have a big Jewish community. You’ll see the buildings of former synagogues, as well as the biggest one of the region, you’ll take a walk across the territory of Lan, where the Jews lived long time ago, also the places connected with Bruno Szhults who’s also known as ” Galician Kaffka”. You can also meet the representative of small Jewish community of the town and visit the Jewish cemetery on the suburb of Staryi Sambir. Return to Lviv.
